12 people, representing a variety of organisations, attended the Food Hygiene Awareness Training on Tuesday 22 March 2011. The session was taken by 3 members of staff from the Environmental Health Department of the Belfast City Council. Information was given on ‘Safe Practise’ in relation to the use of the church kitchens and how to deal with food to prevent contamination with bacteria. A practical exercise tested the effectiveness of our hand washing technique and proved to be quite an eye opener! Everyone received a certificate of attendance as evidence of the on-going committment to Health and Safety within the church.
